VIHIGA COUNTY COMMEMORATES MASHUJAA DAY 2025

H.E. Wilberforce Kitiezo – Deputy Governor Vihiga County today witnessed Mashujaa Day 2025 celebrations held at Essong’olo Primary School grounds in Wemilabi Ward, Luanda Sub-County, representing Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo.
The Deputy Governor, who delivered the Governor’s speech, paid tribute to the nation’s heroes and heroines, among them the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, fondly remembered as the father of devolution. He noted that the late leader’s enduring legacy will continue to guide and inspire the nation to uphold the values and principles he stood for.
He further recognized Early Childhood Development (ECD) teachers, health workers, the business community, and ordinary citizens who continue to demonstrate exemplary dedication and commitment in their respective fields, thereby contributing significantly to the progress of Vihiga County.
He also highlighted that during the 2024/2025 Financial Year, the County Government of Vihiga initiated 202 development projects across the 25 wards, of which 153 have been completed, 34 are ongoing, and 15 are scheduled to commence.
