VIHIGA COUNTY MARKS WORLD DIABETES DAY

The County Government of Vihiga led by the Department of Health Services today marked the World Diabetes Day through a sensitization walk, diabetes and hypertension screening, and nutrition counselling.
The walk which began at the Vihiga County Referral Hospital brought together residents and health workers who walked around Mbale town to raise awareness on the non-communicable disease.
The day anchored in the Department of Health Services’ County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) priority of strengthening preventive and promotive healthcare reaffirmed the county’s commitment to reducing the burden of non-communicable diseases through continuous health education, early detection, and improved access to screening services.
