VIHIGA COUNTY PARTNERS WITH KCB TO EMPOWER YOUTH THROUGH TRANSFORMATIVE SKILLS AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES

The County Government of Vihiga, under the leadership of Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo , reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and job creation by hosting a courtesy visit from representatives of KCB Bank Kenya Limited and the KCB Foundation today morning.
During the meeting, the County Government expressed its intention to strengthen collaboration with the KCB Foundation’s 2jiajiri Programme, a strategic initiative aimed at promoting youth entrepreneurship through market-driven skills development and enterprise creation.
Through this partnership, Vihiga County seeks to support young people interested in short, employability-focused courses at Vocational Training Centres (VTCs), in line with National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) certification standards. The 2jiajiri Programme will provide training, incubation, business mentorship, and starter kits, empowering youth to transition into self-employment or wage employment.
Already, 30 students at Nzalwa Vocational Training Center have benefitted from the pilot phase of this initiative. With the planned expansion, the County Government aims to enable 500 students from VTCs across Vihiga to gain valuable skills and access opportunities for entrepreneurship and job creation in the first phase alone.
