VIHIGA COUNTY SECURES RELIABLE CT SCAN MAINTENACE SERVICES THROUGH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH ZHEMCHEN TECHNOLOGIES

Vihiga County Referral Hospital (VCRH) and numerous health facilities in the county have long grappled with persistent breakdowns of critical biomedical equipment, particularly the Computed Tomography (CT) scan machine. These recurring technical failures have resulted in prolonged service interruptions, undermining the reliability of diagnostic services and raising significant concerns about the sustainability of healthcare delivery in the County.
In a decisive move to address this ongoing challenge, the County Government of Vihiga has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zhemchen Technologies. This strategic partnership is specifically designed to solve the prolonged headcahe of the operation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of the CT scan machine at VCRH, while ensuring a steady supply of essential consumables. The MoU marks a critical step towards restoring and sustaining uninterrupted CT scan services, thereby enhancing the overall reliability of diagnostic capabilities across Vihiga’s health facilities.
Governor Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo , upon witnessing the signing, emphasized his administration’s commitment to expanding collaborations with Zhemchen Technologies. The County plans to leverage Zhemchen’s technical expertise not only to acquire additional advanced equipment, but also to elevate the standard of diagnostic healthcare services for residents.
To ensure the long-term sustainability of these improvements, the partnership includes comprehensive training for biomedical engineering staff on essential maintenance protocols for the CT scan machine. This proactive measure will empower local teams to manage routine upkeep, significantly reducing equipment downtime and guaranteeing consistent, high-quality service delivery throughout Vihiga County’s health facilities.
