VIHIGA COUNTY SURPASSES THE 2024/25 REVENUE TARGETS TO COLLECT KES. 397.9 MILLION

The County Government of Vihiga surpassed the revenue targets for the 2024/25 financial year, collecting KES 397.9 million, as revealed in the revenue performance review held at Broadpark Hotel.
The revenue performance review led by the Directorate of Revenue and Administration Services reviewed the revenue collection from all County departments identifying key areas that needed to work more to realize their revenue targets.
Speaking during the review held at Broadpark Hotel, the Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo congratulated the Department of Finance and Economic Planning and the revenue officers for surpassing the set targets for the previous financial year and encouraged them to come up with new strategies on how to collect revenue.
“I would like to sincerely congratulate the Department of Finance and Economic Planning and particularly the revenue officers for the outstanding job done in the last financial year where we were able to surpass our revenue target of KES. 340 million to collect KES. 397.9 million. However, we are far away from attaining our potential in revenue collection which is much higher but we can achieve more if we work hard,” said the Vihiga County Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo.
The Chief Officer – Accounting, Revenue and Supply Chain Management CPA James Atemba Khalayi while giving his remarks encouraged the revenue officers to maintain high levels of discipline and accountability and ensure better coordination to maximise collections and report on collections made.
The County Government of Vihiga has set a target of KES. 535.1 million to be collected from all its departments within the 2025/26 financial year.
