Proper staffing, equipping and infrastructural development by the Ottichilo administration has enabled VTCs experience great improvement in enrolment.

In the 2025/26 Financial Year, County Government of Vihiga through the Department of Education has made a budgetary allocation to help revamp the VTCs and ensure proper management.

While commissioning a Modern Multi Purpose Hall at Gavudia Vocational Technical Centre (VTC) and equally handing over equipment and learning tools to the institution, the County Boss urged managers and trainers to be proactive in helping learners implement the skills acquired to generate income from the available resources.

He further noted that self employment is the best solution as jobs are quite scarce in the current livelihood.
