NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL VALUE CHAIN DEVELOPMENT (NAVCDP) PROJECT
In an effort to implement the National Agricultural Value Chain Development (NAVCDP) Project in the County, a comprehensive three-day training program for Trainer of Trainers (ToTs) has been organized by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries with support from National Project Coordination Unit (NAVCDP) and Kenya Agriculture and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO).
The training specifically focuses on the Agri-Preneur (AP) model and the ToTs will in turn cascade the knowledge and skills acquired to the Agri-preneurs recruited in the wards between Thursday 16th and 18th January 2025.
In his remarks, the County Executive Committee Member ((CECM) for Agriculture Nicholas Kitungulu encouraged the ToTs to embrace young Agri-preneurs and ensure that they receive thorough training since they will serve as crucial links to farmers across the County.
According to the County Project Coordinator for NAVCDP Aluda, the AP model will enhance the current extension architecture by addressing the whole range of the value chain in the sector.
The model will begin with preparatory phase, incubation, eco-system and finally the commercialization phase.
