DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS MOVE IN TO CUB HIGH RATE OF NEW HIV INFECTIONS IN VIHIGA

His Excellency Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo, EGH hosted officials from The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) interagency team; USAID Kenya, USCDC and USDOD at the county Headquarters.

USAID has supported the County Government of Vihiga to combat the HIV epidemic and the complex challenges of HIV by stepping up locally-led and managed HIV response, towards a well-governed and resilient healthcare system.

However, statistics show a high rate of new infection among our adolescent and youth aged between 15-24 years.

Through the collaboration, the team will be going round our health facilities in order to audit and give us recommendations on strengthening our health systems especially in areas of commodity management, staffing and Resource Mobilization towards self-sustainability.
