IPAS

On behalf of the Governor, H.E. Wilberforce Kitiezo – Deputy Governor Vihiga County hosted a delegation from IPAS led by the Director Dr. Kitui Musoba. The meeting reaffirmed the strong partnership between the County Government of Vihiga and IPAS in advancing Reproductive Health Services.

Through the Department of Health Services, Vihiga County continues to collaborate with IPAS in key areas such as sexual and reproductive health rights, post-abortion care, access to contraceptives, and campaigns against Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

Since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IPAS in 2015, the County has recorded significant progress, including:

Capacity building for healthcare providers.

Regular support supervision in health facilities.

Renovation of 30 health facilities across the county.

Provision of essential hospital commodities, and;

Strengthened community engagement through Community Health Promoters (CHPs)

The DG assured that the County Government of Vihiga remains committed to improving reproductive health which is reflected in the recent increment in the budgetary allocation for the Department of Health Services.
