ZEROING DOWN ON MALARIA IN VIHIGA, A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT BETWEEN THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT OF VIHIGA AND THE PRESIDENT’S MALARIA INITIATIVE(PMI)

H.E. Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo, EGH held a consultative meeting with a team from the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) Global Reach Project where they held discussions around the implementation and progress of the malaria prevention and management in the county.

Dr. Hannah Konker – project coordinator from PMI affirmed that the organization seeks to enhance malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment by scaling up proven interventions with a focus on strengthening community health systems, training workers and enhancing laboratories supplies across all health facilities in the county.

On his side, governor Ottichilo stressed on the need to engage Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in the malaria awareness campaign.
